The “Creative Writing group” started as Covid restrictions began to be lifted in 2021.
It’s aim is to establish a friendly, supportive, and encouraging meeting place for people who enjoy writing for fun. Whatever type of writing you enjoy; poetry, stories, essays will all be welcome here.
We choose a topic for our writing task and endeavour to keep it to two sides of A4. At our subsequent meeting we discuss each submission, giving each other encouragement and helpful hints. At the end of the meeting, a new topic is set for the next meeting.
Reminder for Writers' Group. Our next meeting will be Wednesday 25 February 2026 from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm at Surantha's Cafe, 82 High Street, Stourbridge, DY8 1ED and will be using the upstairs room.
The topic for our writing at home is: 'Telephones and our experiences of them'.
Did you have a telephone during your childhood? What about the different styles of telephones? Different types of telephone boxes ... remember those with 'A and B' buttons?
Please send this writing to Maggie - maggiet1951@googlemail.com for circulation.
During the first part of our meeting we shall carry out some writing exercises to get our imaginative juices going.
As usual, we'll read this writing out during the meeting.
Please bring your U3A membership cards with you to prove you've joined this year if you haven't already done so. We trust you but the U3A needs proof!
