This is a group of amateurs sharing knowledge where all are invited to contribute to our shared experience. Most of our meetings take the form of a visit to a site of interest for wildlife, usually within a short distance of Stourbridge. Occasionally we have indoor meetings to share wildlife experiences (for example when a member has been to visit somewhere special - The Galapagos Islands and the Masai Mara have featured).
This is not a walking (still less a hiking!) group, but in order to see and hear wildlife we do some walking. We try to avoid climbing steep hills or stiles, and as far as possible stick to good footpaths, but the outings are not always suitable for anyone with major mobility problems.
Recent meetings have been to Fens Pool, a reservoir for the canal system and a local nature reserve, to Clent Hills (the mostly level path from Nimmings), to Wrens Nest.
The meeting day and time has now changed and we meet on the 4th Monday of each month at 10 a.m.
Our next planned meeting is Monday, 27 July, a flat circular walk in Kinver. Please contact me to confirm.
If you are not currently a member of this group and would like to know more, please contact me via the messaging service.
